jigg is a huge arachnophobe so every time he sees a spider, he flips out and makes me kill it. He got his phobia when he was a kid because his mom made up a story about spider pee being poisonous. And just his luck, a spider fell on jigg when he was taking a bath so he flipped out thinking that the spider peed on him. It’s funny how simple lies that adults tell can scar a kid for life.

Unfortunately, I only get slightly less freaked out than he does when it comes to stuff like this, so we both just end up screaming a lot. Over the years, I’ve learned that the best ways to kill bugs are 1) use a torch to fry them or 2) suck them up with a vacuum cleaner. Using things to smack bugs isn’t the best approach because there’s always a possibility that you might miss, and the bug falls on you or runs away.
